Welcome to the Dastidar Laboratory

Age-related disorders and Infectious disease Collaboratory

Somasish is an Assistant Professor and DBT-Ramalingaswami Fellow at the Center for Molecular Neurosciences, MAHE.

The Dastidar lab focuses in solving mechanisms behind the etiology of Age-related disorders (such as Parkinson’s and ALS) and Rare Motor Neuron Diseases, with a commitment to identify therapeutic targets. The lab also tests mini-chaperones in alleviating the molecular pathophysiology of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. The lab collaborates with the Mukhopadhyay lab to determine the pathogenesis behind Melioidosis, which is an infectious disease.

The Dastidar lab is highly collaborative and equally invested to offer consultation services.

We thank DBT, ICMR and MAHE for their financial support.
